MEET OUR 2021 MOTHERS DAY COLLECTION

Mother’s Day only comes around once a year, so when it does you have to make it special!

For Mother’s Day we’ve curated the ultimate collection of pampering products perfect for spoiling Mum. Each product is enriched with feel-good ingredients and our best-selling fragrance blend “Love”- a heart-warming scent of neroli blossom, sweet musk & aromatic cardamom.

CONCEPTUALISING MAMA

When brainstorming artwork for new packaging I search my home and draw inspiration from objects that hold sentimental value to me. I reference fabrics & outfits from past events, photos from overseas travels, bikinis & even cushions from my lounge! I float around my favourite homewares stores, looking at textures, tones and colours and use that to influence our mood board for a new collection.

For the Mama packaging, the final colour selection was inspired by a black & floral bikini, which had all the colours from our Scented Offerings collection in the design. It was bold & brilliant & knew it would pop on the shelves. We also took into consideration the emergence of ‘back to vintage’ and the retro look that is trending in the fashion world. The result was a vintage, floral inspired 70s print with a modern twist.

DESIGNING MAMA

Our in-house Graphic Designer & Artist Jodie hand draws all the artwork for our packaging.

Jodie drew the floral-vintage inspired print for each decorative box. The artwork was then digitised so it could be printed across all our Mama packaging. We chose a black background to make the floral print really stand out. We felt the black would also bring a contemporary look to the collection. The pink adds a feminine flair, the gold a nod to the 70s vintage trend that inspired the look and the hints of green represent the natural, feel-good ingredients in each product. These are also the colours of the Scented Offerings collection, yellow for Gratitude, green for Happiness, white for Celebrate & pink for Love!

ON SET WITH MAMA

We teamed up with Pablo from Pablo Martin Photography for our Mama photoshoot. Our inspiration for the shoot was to recreate a moody, still-life, modern renaissance painting. We collected vintage books, fruit, shells, feathers, flowers & fabrics to bring the look to life. A cream linen backdrop with a play on light, created a whimsical feel, whereas the deeper olive backdrop created a moodier and more dramatic result.
